Dr. Gerhard Eschenbaum
Deputy Managing Director of the Dr. Eschenbaum has a degree as graduate economist from the University of Bochum and is a qualified expert for European policy and foreign trade. He devoted his doctorate to the subject "Strategic reserves of raw materials, with special consideration of a funding from currency reserves of the Bundesbank". He has 28 years of experience in the work of the CCIs and since 2003 he is deputy managing director and head of the department for foreign trade and European policy at the CCI Düsseldorf. He holds honorary offices as assistant chairman of the supervisory board at the NRW.International GmbH and as advisory board member at the Institute of East Asian Studies at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Jacky Sinclair DipGAI, RegAI, FInstAI Biographical details Jacky Sinclair has over thirty years' industry experience. This includes working in Marketing and Product Management for major international manufacturers such as DORMA and ASSA ABLOY, handling Marketing for Certifire, and working for the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers. Qualified both as a teacher and an industrial trainer, she has lectured on ironmongery around the world. She is also a published author, and regularly contributes articles to industry magazines, as well as answering questions on the GAI's Technical Helpline service.

How Brussels works - some insights on EU advocacy
This presentation will give an overview on the main EU institutions and how they interact. It will also look into how an effective lobbying campaign has to be set up and how to approach the different actors in the Brussels arena. Finally, some practical tips will be given as well as the do's and don'ts on advocacy and lobbying.
