Dr.-Ing. E.h. mult. Dr. sc. h.c. ETH Hans-Peter Wiendahl
Hans-Peter Wiendahl was born 1938 in Germany. He studied mechanical engineering at the RWTH Aachen and at MIT USA and worked after that as Research Assistant for three years at the WZL Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering in Aachen. There he received a doctorate in engineering in 1970 and in 1972 he was graduated as lecturer.
From 1972 to 1979 he moved to a large machine building company working in different management positions.
In 1979 he was appointed full time professor and director of the Institute of Production Systems and Logistics at the University of Hanover (www.ifa.uni-hannover.de). After 24 years he retired from his university duties but is still active as lecturer in MBA courses and advisor for the industry and several research foundations.
He is authoring several books and more than 300 articles in the field of Facility Management, Assembly and production logistics. He received three doctorates of honour from the Universities of Magdeburg, ETH Zurich and Dortmund.
